1. Kalahari Resorts Sandusky

Less than a three-hour drive north of Columbus is the Kalahari Resort indoor water park, also known as "the largest indoor water park in the country." The 173,000-square-foot water-park, located on the grounds of the Kalahari Resort hotel, has two Flow riders surf areas, a 12,000-square-foot wave pool and an uphill roller coaster/water slide known as the Zip Coaster. Younger children, including toddlers, can enjoy smaller water slides, interactive water features, and wave pools.

Kalahari Resort is open to the general public and each guest of the Kalahari Resort night receives admission to the water park. Outside food and drinks are not allowed, however, there are options within the park, such as snacks at Safari snacks or drinks at the mud hut. The water park is open daily, but hours vary. The park is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 am to 9 pm and Friday through Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm The park opens at 9 am on Saturday and Sunday for overnight lodge guests.

2. Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Waterpark

Less than an hour and a half southwest of Columbus is the indoor water park at the Great Wolf Lodge hotel in Mason, Ohio. The water park has the only Double Barrel drop, the only ride in the world. Imagine a ride with a six-story drop, spinning vortices, and a hairpin turn before its final descent. Other attractions include Fort Mackenzie, a tree house that doubles as a water fort, the Crooked Creek lazy river, hot tubs, and the wave pool pond slap tail. Toddlers and toddlers will enjoy the water volcano, small water slides and lazy river raft ride.

The Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark is strictly for lodge guests. Admission to the water park can be granted to visitors of Lodge guests and there is an additional charge for each visitor. The water park is open year round from 9am to 9pm; However, hours are subject to change.

3. CoCo Key Water Resort

Less than an hour east of Columbus is the indoor CoCo Key Water Resort at the Cherry Valley Lodge hotel in Newark, Ohio. CoCo Key is a 55,000 square foot water park complete with the Coral Reef Cavern, an activity pool with water basketball and a constantly changing coral reef lively backdrop. Teens and adults looking for a thrill can take the plunge on the Pelican or Shark Slam water slides. There are options for the youngsters listed as well, such as the Dip-In Theater, a children's pool complete with a movie screen for showing special films for young children. Younger children can ride smaller slides and play with water cannons on the Parrot Perch.

CoCo Key is open to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. Lodge guests are guaranteed access to the water park. Guests must bring their own towels. outside food and drink are not allowed inside the water park. The water park has food and beverage options such as the Galera snack shop and Pizza Hut Express. The water park is open year-round, but hours of operation vary.
