WHAT ARE THE NEW YORK CANDLELIGHT CONCERTS?

As its name already gives us away  (candle + light = Candlelight) the Candlelight Concerts are concerts by candlelight.

  • It is a series of concerts that takes place in dozens of cities around the world. Even if you don't coincide with any concert in the Big Apple, it is likely that you have one nearby!
  • They are organized by Fever, a platform for tickets and experiences that also offers many other proposals in New York.
  • They take place throughout the year.
  • As you can see here, the genre changes at each concert: you can find everything from Beyoncé tributes to movie soundtracks, rock classics, ballet, classical music… A little bit of everything!

SPACES AND EXPERIENCE

What all Candlelight Concerts New York concerts have in common, apart from candlelight, is that they are held in intimate and often unique spaces.

No big concert halls: some take place in churches in Manhattan and Brooklyn, others in hotels...

We, for example, attended a concert at the Williamsburg Opera House, a restored former concert hall in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn.

The setting and the hundreds of (electric) candles that flicker in the dark, enveloping the stage, create an intimate and cosy atmosphere.

And, as soon as the musicians take the stage, a very special evening in the city begins.

The concert we went to, rock classics played by the  Highline Quartet, had some of the most emotional moments.

As for the duration, the concerts of Candlelight Concerts in New York are short, between 60 and 90 minutes.

Perfect to go out to dinner or have a drink after the experience!

CANDLELIGHT CONCERT PRICES

Candlelight Concerts in New York start at $30 or $35 per person for Section C, the furthest from the stage.

The middle section, section B, starts at $50 per ticket. And the one closest to the stage, A, can cost about $70.

🕯️Here you can see all Candlelight concerts and their prices.

Is it worth buying the most expensive tickets? Perhaps in larger spaces the difference between sections is more noticeable.

But the venue we were in, the Williamsburg Opera House, was so small that there weren't any big changes in visibility or acoustics.

If you attend any of the Candlelight Concerts in New York, we would love for you to tell us about your experience in the space and in the section you chose.
